This renovation of a ca. 1850 Carriage house and addition in Charleston, South Carolina’s Historic District is notable for how the new serpentine wall and gate are utilized to sensitively create a private oasis in the rear of the property. This wall allows the homeowners to open up their home to the new and secluded piazza and courtyard. Designed while with Smith Walker Architects.
